Renovation dust has a way of travelling beyond the work area. Gemz Cleaning helps turn a recently built or refurbished property into a usable space by planning the clean around fine dust, residue, fixtures and the final handover.

Why post-construction cleaning is different

A property can look finished while still carrying a fine layer of building dust. It settles on floors, ledges, door frames, inside cabinets, fittings and the tops of fixtures. Renovation work may also leave paint splashes, adhesive, grout haze, packaging, sawdust or marks from trades moving materials through the property. A normal household clean is rarely planned for that combination.

The timing matters. Post-construction cleaning should happen after the main dusty work has finished and before furniture, stock or personal belongings make access difficult. If several trades are still working, dust and residue may return after the cleaning team leaves. Tell us the project stage, outstanding work and expected handover date so the appointment can be placed sensibly.

What the team needs to know

Share whether the property is a new apartment, villa, office, retail unit or renovated room; which surfaces have changed; and what remains on site. Mention new flooring, natural stone, glass partitions, built-in cabinets, appliances, painted walls or specialist fixtures. Some materials can scratch or stain when construction residue is treated with the wrong product.

Photographs of the dust, marks and rooms can help the first conversation. If the site has restricted access, lift booking, parking rules, security procedures or a contractor handover, include that information. Larger properties benefit from a room list and a clear distinction between areas ready to clean and areas still under work.

A sensible finishing sequence

The work is easier to manage when it follows a sequence that limits recontamination. Higher reachable surfaces and built-in areas may need to be addressed before floors receive their final treatment. Cabinets, frames, fixtures and glass can require separate attention, while kitchens and bathrooms may contain residue that should not be spread into other rooms.

Not every construction mark should be attacked with force. Paint on a delicate finish, adhesive on a coated surface, cement residue on tile or dust in a ventilation area each needs a considered decision. The objective is a clean, usable property without replacing one problem with scratches, dullness or surface damage.

Preparing for the final clean

Remove tools, loose packaging and materials that the cleaning team is not responsible for. Make sure water and electricity are available, confirm that the property is safe to enter and identify any areas that remain unfinished. Protect items that have already been installed but should not be moved.

After the clean, complete a walk-through before furniture or stock fills the rooms. Look at cabinet interiors, window edges, floors, door frames, bathrooms and the areas around new fixtures. If other work follows, protect the cleaned surfaces and arrange a final light touch-up only when the project is genuinely ready for handover.

About Post-Construction Cleaning In Abu Dhabi

When should post-construction cleaning happen?

Ideally after dusty construction work has ended and before the property is furnished or occupied. The exact timing depends on the project and outstanding trades.

Can you remove paint or adhesive residue?

Tell us what the residue is on and how old it is. The method must suit the surface; some marks may be permanent or require a specialist decision.

Do you clean new offices before opening?

Yes, include the floor plan, handover date, access requirements and the type of residue or dust present so the scope can be planned.
